KWC ends drought at USI

Kentucky Wesleyan College won at the University of Southern Indiana for the first time since 1990, beating the Screaming Eagles 81-66 at the PAC Arena.

The Panthers did their damage on Monday behind a game-high 21 points from Katie Behrens.

Behrens, a senior center, made 7-of-9 from the floor and 3-of-4 on 3-pointers. She also had two steals and two assists in 25 minutes.

KWC (10-5, 4-3 in Great Lakes Valley Conference) also got substantial help off the bench. Kristen Rowe and Bianca Barton combined to score 27 points and pull down 10 rebounds. Rowe had 14 points and Barton 13.


KWC made 25-of-47 from the floor for 53 percent. It was also 23-of-35 from the free-throw line. The Panthers were good on 8-of-22 from 3-point range for 36 percent.

KWC also owned a 39-26 rebounding advantage. That helped offset 22 turnovers by the Panthers.
