Kentucky Wesleyan fell to Asbury 3-0 (25-19, 25-18, 25-22) in their home season opener at Jones Gymnasium on Tuesday afternoon.
Freshman
Bridget Johnson (Owensboro/Apollo HS) led the Panthers (2-3) with nine kills. Sophomore setter
Jordan Rickert (Louisville/Holy Cross HS) produced 17 assists and had six digs.
Freshmen Chelsee Brothers (Indianapolis/Southport HS) and Emmia Rickerts (Fishers, Ind./Fishers HS) plus junior
MaryBeth Ryan (Porter, Ind./Chesterton HS) all recorded four kills.
Ryan also had two blocks. Junior
Morgan Watson (Collierville, Tenn./Collierville HS) posted 12 digs.
Asbury went to 8-3. Panthers host Cumberland (Tenn.) later on Tuesday evening.
