Kentucky Wesleyan overcame a 5-1 deficit to go onto a 10-5 win in 10 innings in the first doubleheader contest at Wisconsin-Parkside on Sunday afternoon.

Katy Kruse scored on a double by Jackie Porter for the Panthers first run in the third inning. Clarissa Smith knocked in Laura Helms and Meagan #Sallee# with a double in the sixth to close the gap to 5-3.

KWC in the seventh when Traci Sanders hit a two-run single for Kruse and Angie Camp to tie the score 5-5.

The Panthers exploded for five runs in the top of the 10th inning. Helms and Smith scored on errors and Camp hit a double to knock in Kruse and Kyli Smithson for the final score.

 Helms went three-for-five at the plate. Ashlee Winstead recorded six strikeouts in four innings before Kayla Meny came into relief for the final six innings to earn her third win of the season.

In the second game, the Panthers went 12 innings in their 5-3 win in Somers, Wis.

Sallee scored on an error and Helms scored on a fielder's choice in the second inning to make it 2-1. Meny scored in the fourth on a wild pitch to extend the lead to 3-1.

The Rangers came back to score two in the seventh to tied the game at 3-3.

Helms scored on an error and Kruse knocked in Smith to seal the 5-3 win in the 12th.

Kyle Smithson had two RBIs while Kruse, Camp and Smith each posted two hits.

Jordan Vertz started for KWC on the mound going six innings and striking out six and Winstead came into relief for the final six to throw eight stikeouts and earn her eighth win of the season.

The Panthers (13-20, 6-12) played at Lewis on Monday morning at 11 a.m.
