Kentucky Wesleyan was limited to 28 percent shooting and lost 84-59 on Saturday at undefeated Wayne State.

The Panthers made just 8-of-37 shots from the field in the first half, as Wayne State bolted to a 41-25 lead by intermission.

KWC (3-2) was led by T'Essence Phelps who scored a game best 16 points. Bianca Barton was the Panthers' only other double-digit scorer with 10 points.

Karly Rhoads led Wesleyan with eight rebounds and Lauren Goffinet added seven.

Deanna Crumpton scored 14 points to pace a balanced attack for Wayne State, which got 13 points and six rebounds from Phaebre Colbert.

The Panthers were limited to 5-of-22 shooting from behind the three-point arc (22 percent).

Wayne State (4-0) shot 52 percent from the floor (31-60) and made 3-of-5 shots from three-point range.

KWC made 21-of-71 shots on the day.

The Panthers play at Wisconsin-Parkside on Thursday at 5:30.
