KWC women top Lindenwood University

Kentucky Wesleyan College got an abundance of scoring throughout its lineup in a 74-66 women's basketball win over Lindenwood on Wednesday night at the Sportscenter.

Karly Rhoads scored 13 points off the bench and Bianca Barton added 11 for the Panthers as they went to 2-0 on the young season. But they had five other players score at least six points in the game.

The Panthers shot well from the field and the free-throw line. They made 27-of-59 from the floor for 45.8 percent. They were 16-of-19 from the line for 84 percent. KWC struggled from 3-point range, hitting 4-of-15 for 27 percent.

Lindenwood (0-2) was led by Cassie Bluemner's 15 points. Lindenwood made 24-of-55 from the field for 43.6 percent. It was 13-of-20 from the free-throw line for 42 percent.

Lindenwood outrebounded KWC 37-32.

KWC hosts Ashland on Saturday at 1 p.m. at the Sportscenter.
