Quincy strung together a 23-9 run midway in the second half en route to defeating Kentucky Wesleyan 86-70 on Thursday night at the Sportscenter.

The Panthers (11-7, 5-6 Great Lakes Valley Conference) played the 16th-ranked Hawks tight through the first half, trailing 37-34, and for more than seven minutes into the second half, behind by 52-48.

But Quincy (18-1, 10-1) scored 23 of the next 32 points to take a commanding 75-57 lead with 4:28 remaining.

Katie Behrens led KWC with 17 points, while Kristen Rowe scored 15, Amanda Harnist 12 and Jordan Ogle 11.

Kassidy Shuman led the Hawks with 19 points. Jessica Vaughn scored 18, and Ali Schwagmeyer and Daryle Goldie 14 each.

The Panthers return to action against GLVC opponent Lewis at 1 p.m. Saturday at the Sportscenter.
