No. 18 Norse sweep three from KWC

Kentucky Wesleyan suffered a triple-header baseball loss to visiting Northern Kentucky on Monday at KWC's Panther Park.

In the opener, the No. 18 Norse erupted for six runs in the fifth inning on the way to a 10-0 rout of the Panthers.

Wesleyan was paced by Mike Finigan, who had two of his team's five hits.

In the second game, the Norse pushed a run across in the top of the 11th inning to defeat the Panthers, 6-5. Northern forced extra innings by scoring twice in the top of the seventh.

KWC was led by Finigan, who went 5-for-6 at the plate. Jordan White drove in a pair of runs for the Panthers, and Scott Woodburn added two hits.

In the finale, NKU clubbed the Panthers 9-3, scoring eight times in the top of the seventh inning.

Wesleyan got a pair of RBIs from Luke Garman (2-for-4), and Finigan also had two hits.

The three-game sweep lifts Northern Kentucky to 39-12 overall and 23-5 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.
