Wesleyan splits pair with Lewis

Kentucky Wesleyan won the opener of a baseball doubleheader against Lewis 3-2, then dropped the nightcap 13-3 on Sunday at Panther Park.

KWC (15-22, 7-12 Great Lakes Valley Conference) rallied from a two-run deficit with three runs in the fourth inning to win the first game.

Brandon Robinette scattered four hits in six innings, striking out seven, to earn the win. Chris Smith went 3-for-3 with a double. Jordan White and Heath Wright each went 2-for-3.

KWC's pitching staff was roughed up in the second game, as four hurlers combined to allow Lewis (20-18, 11-9) 17 hits. The Panthers' Tim Wimsatt and Mike Witten each went 2-for-3.
