The Kentucky Wesleyan College women's basketball team fell behind by 21 points by halftime and never recovered in an 85-46 loss to Bellarmine on Thursday at Knights Hall in Louisville.

The Panthers (12-15, 5-13 Great Lakes Valley Conference) were held to 27.1 percent shooting (16-of-59) from the field -- 12.5 percent (2-of-16) from 3-point range. They also struggled from the foul line, hitting 12-of-22 attempts (54.5 percent).

KWC was outrebounded 48-34.

The Panthers, playing in their regular-season finale, were led by Katie Behrens' 12 points. Kristen Rowe grabbed a team-high six rebounds.


Bellarmine (16-10, 9-8) was solid from the field (26-of-55, 47.3 percent), sizzled from behind the 3-point arc (7-of-15, 46.7 percent) and made 26-of-31 free throws (83.9 percent).

The Knights had four players score in double figures, led by Brittany Edelen's 20 points.
