USI rallies past Wesleyan, 74-66

Ellen Young drilled four 3-pointers and scored a game-best 23 points to lift Southern Indiana to a 74-66 come-from-behind victory over visiting Kentucky Wesleyan on Monday night at USI's PAC Arena in Evansville.

Wesleyan (12-14, 5-12 Great Lakes Valley Conference) led 35-32 at intermission.

Southern Indiana (19-7, 10-5) got 15 points from Rinesha Soaper, to go with 12 points and six rebounds from Abby Williams.

Kristen Rowe paced a balanced KWC attack, finishing with 16 points and six rebounds. Jennifer Coronelli added 15 points, Katie Behrens 13 and Amanda Harnist 11.

USI shot 43 percent from the floor and drained 14-of-18 foul shots (78 percent). The Eagles committed 10 floor errors.

Wesleyan shot 45 percent from the field and hit 12-of-14 free throws (86 percent). The Panthers outrebounded USI 39-29, but were hampered by 26 turnovers.
