Panthers show team effort at Morehead State

Kentucky Wesleyan fell to host Morehead State, 66-56, on Monday night in the first-of-three Division I exhibition contests for the Panthers in the next nine days.

Sophomore newcomer Bianca Barton came off the bench to lead all Panthers with 10 points. All 11 players logged 14 or more minutes for new co-head coaches Caleb Nieman and Nicole Nieman.

Junior center Katie Behrens collected a team high seven rebounds and had six points.
Sophomore guard Jordan Ogle grabbed a second-best six rebounds and freshman Shelbi Tyra gathered four boards.

Sophomore Lauren Goffinet issued a team-high four assists to go along with her six points. Junior Kristen Rowe added eight points and freshman Kourtney Rhoads had seven.

The Eagles led 28-27 at the half. Ashar Harris led Morehead with 18 points and 19 boards.

The Panthers will travel to Kentucky to play the Wildcats on Sunday, Nov. 7 at 1 p.m. CT.
