Junior forward Amanda Harnist produced 10 points, 12 rebounds and five assists to lift Kentucky Wesleyan College to a 77-66 women's basketball victory over Saint Joseph's on Saturday at the Sportscenter.

Harnist made 5-of-7 floor shots, adding two blocks and a steal as the Panthers improved to 8-3 overall and 1-1 in the Great Lakes Valley Conference.

Freshman guard Lauren Goffinet led KWC with 15 points and four steals, with teammates Kristen Rowe and Jennifer Coronelli each scoring 11 points.

Tatiana Ortiz scored a game-best 19 points for the Pumas (3-9, 1-2). Jen Szala scored 12 points and reserve Britney Cruse 11.


KWC shot 51 percent from the field, including 5-of-12 from 3-point range (42 percent). The Panthers made 18-of-27 foul shots (67 percent) and won the rebounding battle, 38-27.

Saint Joseph's rallied from 33 percent first-half shooting (9-of-27) to finish at 42 percent (22-of-52). The Pumas were 6-of-20 from 3-point land (30 percent) and sank 16-of-23 free throws (70 percent).

Each team was saddled with 25 turnovers.

Wesleyan returns to action at 5:15 p.m. Monday at the Sportscenter against GLVC foe Wisconsin-Parkside.
