Katie Behrens and Kristen Rowe each scored 18 points to lift Kentucky Wesleyan to a 75-58 women's college basketball victory over visiting Illinois-Springfield on Saturday afternoon at the Sportscenter.
The Panthers (9-7, 2-5 Great Lakes Valley Conference) shot just 24 percent from the field in the first half, but still led 33-23 at intermission due to the Prairie Stars' sloppy ballhandling.
Wesleyan warmed up considerably in the second half, shooting 52 percent (17-33) to win handily.
Behrens shared team rebounding honors with Amanda Harnist (seven each). Point guard Jennifer Coronelli dished a game-best five assists.
Kelly Thompson and Erin Glogovsky each scored 12 points to pace Illinois-Springfield (2-13, 0-8). Alex Blair added 10 points.
The Prairie Stars were whistled for 29 turnovers.
KWC visits Rockhurst on Monday.
