KWC falls to USI, 79-61

Jennifer Coronelli scored 17 points to lead the Kentucky Wesleyan College women's basketball team as they fell to Southern Indiana, 79-61, on Thursday in a Great Lakes Valley Conference game at the Sportscenter.

Lauren Goffinet added 14 points for the Panthers (8-7, 1-5 GLVC). KWC got off to a slow start against the Eagles as USI got 12 first-half points from Ellen Young, who finished with 19.

Kara Haley, Amanda Harnist and Kristen Rowe had five rebounds each for KWC as it beat USI on the board 32-20.

For the game, the Panthers were 17-for-44 for 39 percent and 23-of-28 at the free-throw line for 82 percent.

USI (15-3, 6-1) got 18 points from Amie Newhart. The Eagles were 28-of-56 from the field for 46 percent and 19-of-21 at the line for 91 percent.
