Panthers fall to Bearcats

Southwest Baptist scored 31 unanswered points on the way to a 50-20 football win over Kentucky Wesleyan College on Saturday in Bolivar, Mo.

Steven Gachette threw for 243 yards (19-of-25) and three touchdowns to lift the Bearcats to their first win of the season. He also had a 51-yard touchdown run.

KWC is still looking for its first victory after four games this season.

Panthers quarterback Vincent Lalonde ran 22 times for 110 yards and a 3-yard touchdown. Lalonde also connected on 21-of-35 passes for 150 yards, two touchdowns and an interception.

Lalonde hit DaMarcus Ganaway with a 31-yard scoring strike early in the second quarter and connected with Tim Davis on a 21-yard scoring pass with 9:04 to play.

Ganaway caught 11 passes for 86 yards

The Panthers finished with 366 yards in total offense. They surrendered 494 yards in total offense to Southwest Baptist.

KWC hosts Central State on Saturday in its first home game of the season at Steele Stadium.
