Kentucky Wesleyan College was able to gain some yards on the ground, and that helped translate into a 21-6 win over Lincoln on Saturday in Jefferson City, Mo.

The Panthers rushed for 174 yards total, and quarterback Vincent Lalonde led that effort with 74 yards on 16 carries.

Lalonde had a 9-yard touchdown pass to DaMarcus Ganaway, and the KWC QB also had a 1-yard touchdown run.

The Panthers never trailed, running their record to 2-8 with one game left in the season. They are now 2-1 in the Great Lakes Football Conference.


Lincoln did put up a 7-yard touchdown run by Chris Willis, cutting the Panthers' lead to 14-6 with 9:32 left in the second quarter.

But KWC's defense kept working, and forced a fumble and two interceptions.

The Panthers took further control of the game with their first offensive series of the third quarter.

Tyler Curran carried four straight times starting at the Lincoln 18, getting in the end zone with a 2-yard run on third down with 9:22 left in the period.

Curran picked up 36 yards on seven carries. Thomas Gordon had 55 yards on 15 carries for the Panthers.

KWC finished with 238 yards in total offense, and Lincoln had 292.


KWC completes its season at home on Saturday against Missouri S&T.
