Panthers find going tough against Lake Erie

Kentucky Wesleyan College moved the football better, but could not convert those yards into touchdowns. The Panthers lost on the road to Lake Erie, 24-7, on Saturday in Painesville, Ohio.

Sean Bedevelsky ran for two touchdowns (27 yards and six yards) and picked up 99 yards on 14 carries to pace Lake Erie's rushing attack. The Storm picked up 253 yards on the ground and had 323 yards in total offense.

Kameron Alexander scored on a 3-yard run for Lake Erie (7-3) and Sam Marcotte kicked a 27-yard field goal to account for the rest of Lake Erie's scoring.

Travis Walker scored on a 4-yard run with 5:16 left for KWC's lone touchdown.


The Panthers fell to 1-8 on the season.

KWC quarterback Vincent Lalonde hit 24-of-30 passes for 170 yards with no interceptions. The Panthers were net 156 yards through the air and picked up 111 more on the ground for 267 in total offense.

DaMarcus Ganaway had nine catches for 88 yards for the Panthers. Walker led KWC on the ground with 48 yards on eight carries.

KWC travels to Lincoln (Mo.) for its next contest this Saturday.
