Box Score

Kentucky Wesleyan College managed little yardage and no offensive touchdowns in a 48-7 loss to Saint Joseph's on Saturday in Rensselaer, Ind.

The Panthers' lone score came on David James' 60-yard interception return with 3:14 left in the first quarter.

Other than that, it was all St. Joe's on the scoreboard.

The Panthers' defense could not handle running back Jashon Banks, who jolted KWC for 204 yards on 12 carries. Banks made big play after big play, scoring on two touchdown runs of 61 yards each, another jaunt of 57 and a 3-yard burst.

He was part of a machine that hammered out 367 yards on the ground and 444 overall.

Garrick Hall, who had an 8-yard touchdown run for St. Joe's, picked up 68 yards on 17 carries. The Pumas improved to 4-5, 3-0 in the Great Lakes Football Conference.

The Panthers (1-7, 1-1) had difficulty generating any offense for the second straight week.

Gordon Thomas was the only KWC player to have positive double-figure rushing yardage. Thomas carried 19 times for 40 yards -- 2.1 yards per carry.

With quarterback sacks and other lost yardage, KWC put up 14 net rushing yards. David Howard hit 11-of-26 passes for 58 yards.
