Kentucky Wesleyan's women's golf team tied a program record with a 343, but was nonetheless in eighth-place after the opening round of the eight-team Bubba Watson Invitational Monday at Stonebrook Golf Course in Pensacola, Fla.
Coach Brent Mathew's Panthers got scoring from Rachel Ross (84), Courtney Wallace (86), Lauren Jill Tatum (87) and Lexie Estes (87).
The tournament leader is Montevallo (Ala.) University with a 314.
The 36-hole event concludes today.
