UNION, KY. – The Kentucky Wesleyan College men's golf team finished fourth at The Jewell (Northern Kentucky Spring Invitational) on Tuesday. The Panthers posted rounds of 295 and 300 at Lassing Pointe Golf Course while
Collins Dodson finished sixth overall.
Monday brought calm skies overtop the 6800 yard golf course and
Tyler Nickol took advantage of the premium scoring conditions. Nickol made four birdies and 12 pars in his opening round to shoot one-under par 70.
Carter Dodson made three birdies and two bogeys in his final 10 holes to shoot two-over 73.
His brother Collins opened with a 74 while
Lance Lewis carded a round of 78. After a shaky start, Lewis played his final 12 holes in two over to finish seven over par for the day.

The conditions returned to typical spring form on Tuesday and wind gusts reached 29 miles per hour by 10 AM.
Collins Dodson had one of the lowest rounds of the day as he parred his first 11 holes before making a birdie on 12. Dodson made two birdies and two bogeys on the day to shoot even par 71. His two day total of three over par 145 placed sixth overall out of a field of 35 players.
Carter Dodson carded a final round of 75 to post a two day total of 148 and finish 16
th. Nickol recorded a 36-hole total of 150 to place 22
nd while
Alex Phillips finished with rounds of 79-75 to sit in tie for 28
th. The Panthers posted a final round 300 to move up one spot on the leaderboard, one shot ahead of IUPUI.
Wright State took the team title after rounds 275-282, topping the host Norse by 28 shots.
The Panthers will host their own invitational on Friday and Saturday at the Pearl Club.
