Kentucky Wesleyan's Bianca Barton earned All-Great Lakes Valley Conference first team honors, Lauren Goffinet received second team recognition and Barton and T'Essence Phelps captured All-Defensive Team awards, as voted on by GLVC coaches.
Barton, a 5-foot-8 senior guard from Pontiac, Mich. (Birmingham Roeper HS), leads the Panthers in three-point shooting (45.1), assists (3.7), steals (39) and minutes played (26.4) in 26 games and 22 starts. She is second in scoring (9.9) and blocks (7), third in three-pointers (23) and tied for fourth in rebounding (3.2). Barton received the GLVC Player of the Week Award.
Goffinet, a 5-foot-11 senior guard from Tell City, Ind. (Tell City HS), leads KWC in scoring (11.4), three-pointers (35) in starting all 26 contests. She is second in minutes played (26.3) and third in rebounding (3.8) plus collected 28 assists and 23 steals.
Phelps, a 5-foot-10 junior forward from Fayetteville, Tenn. (Lincoln County HS), leads in rebounding (5.9) in 26 games and 25 starts. She is third in assists (43), blocks (31) and minutes played (25.6), and fourth in three-pointers (21).
Receiving the GLVC top honors were Player of the Year Abby Duethman (Maryville), Freshman of the Year Kalea Parks (Drury) and Coach of the Year Lisa Carlsen (Lewis).
No. 3 seed Kentucky Wesleyan (19-7) will play No. 5 seed Indianapolis (19-8) in the Great Lakes Valley Conference quarterfinals on Friday at noon in the Ford Center in Evansville, Ind.
