Box Score Dalton Oliver threw for 396 yards and four touchdowns to lead Kentucky Wesleyan to their second straight win as the Panthers defeated host Arizona Christian 33-14 in Phoenix on Saturday night.
The 396 yards marked an eighth-best single-game performance at KWC as Oliver connected on 19-of-39 pass attempts.
Cole Woodburn started the Panthers scoring with a 27-yard field goal. Dalton followed with a two-yard pass to
Keelan Cole in the first quarter for the 9-0 lead. Dalton and Cole connected again for a 67-yard touchdown to close the half at 16-0.
Woodburn opened the third quarter with his second field goal of the day with a 29-yarder. The Firestorm got on the scoreboard with a 13-yard pass to cut the Panthers lead to 19-7.
In the fourth quarter, Dalton and Cole connected on their third touchdown with a 17-yard pass. ACU followed with a 26-yard touchdown toss.
Xavier Mitchell caught Oliver's fourth touchdown pass with a 10-yard reception to settle on the final score.
Myles Walker rushed for a career-high 137 yards on 23 carries. Mitchell caught seven passes for 164 yards including a 65-yarder and Cole had five receptions for 123 yards.
Defensively,
Tyler Hermann came away with two of KWC's three interceptions.
Cody Mills grabbed eight solo tackles plus one sack.
Micah Crutcher collected two sacks.
The Panthers (2-2) host Faith in their home-opener on Saturday, Oct. 4, at 1 p.m.
