Football grabs sixth win and first winning season since 1999

Football cruised to a sixth win for their first winning season since 1999 by surpassing visiting Virginia Lynchburg 53-13 on Saturday at Steele Stadium.
       
Dalton Oliver threw for 315 yards and four touchdowns by completing 20 of 34 passes where he set a new KWC season records for passing yards with 3,182. He surpassed Chris Owen's (2010) 2,842. He also tied the season record for passing touchdowns with 30.
 
Keelan Cole caught seven passes for 150 yards and two touchdowns to break three school season records. He now has 1,422 receiving yards, 69 receptions and 19 touchdowns.
 
Cole Woodburn started the Panther's scoring spree with a 36-yard field goal in the first two minutes of the contest as he also surpassed one kicking record and tied another. He has accumulated a season-best 44 extra-points and tied for first with nine field goals.
 
Following Woodburn's opening score, Cole caught a 30-yard pass from Oliver to extend the lead to 10-0 at the end of the first quarter. Myles Walker pushed the score to 17-0 on a five-yard run with 5:29 in the second.
 
Cole caught his second touchdown pass on a nine-yard pass from Oliver to make it 24-0 with 1:20 left in the half. Virginia Lynchburg closed the half on a one-yard run to settle on a halftime tally of 24-7.
 
Oliver found Trey Beets on 15-yard pass in the third quarter at the 5:52 mark. Michael Moore 25 seconds later picked up a fumble recovery for a 45-yard touchdown return. The Dragons scored their final touchdown late in the third.
 
Marque Northington finished the third as time expired with a 30-yard touchdown reception from Oliver to push the score to 45-13. Woodburn followed in the fourth with back-to-back field goals of 30 and 22 yards. The final KWC score was completed on a team safety.
 
The Panthers (6-4) may add an 11th contest on Nov. 22. The previous home game and season finale with Maranatha Baptist on Nov. 15 has been cancelled.
