In the opener,
Josalyn Ress hit two solo home runs for Kentucky Wesleyan as they defeated Bellarmine 2-1 in Great Lakes Valley Conference play on Saturday afternoon in Louisville.
Ress also went 3-for-3 at the plate.

Traci Sanders added two hits a piece
Bellarmine jumped out to a 1-0 lead in the third before Ress's home runs in the fifth and seventh for the victory.
Ashlee Winstead earned her eighth win by throwing 15 strikeouts and allowing only four hits in a complete game.
In the closing contest,
Kyli Smithson went 3-for-4, drove in a RBI and scored in KWC's 4-3 loss.
Kayla Meny hit a RBI sacrifice fly to score
Ashley Crooke in the second to take a 1-0 lead. Smithson produced the third run with a RBI single to bring Kruse home in the third.
Bellarmine came back with three runs in the bottom of the third.
Crooke hit a RBI sacrifice fly to score Smithson to tie the score 3-3 in the seventh.
The Knights hit a solo home run in the bottom of the 10th for the 4-3 win.
Winstead struck out seven in 4.1 inning and gave up the game winning hit to receive the loss.
The Panthers (16-24,11-17 GLVC) play at Northern Kentucky on Sunday.
