Ashley Crooke hit a double and scored off a
Katy Kruse single for the Panthers run in the bottom of the fifth to give KWC the 1-0 lead. Missouri S&T went ahead in the top of the sixth with a two-run homer for the final score in the opener.
Crooke posted two hits and Ashley Winstead took the seven-inning loss as she had three strikeouts.
In the second contest,
Traci Sanders hit a double and scored on Crooke's double for the 1-0 lead in the first inning and shutout the Miners the rest of the way for the victory.
Kruse posted two hits and
Jordan Vertz pitched the seven-inning shutout with three strikeouts and five hits to earn her third victory in five appearances.
The Panthers (5-11, 4-4 GLVC) play at Southern Indiana on Wednesday at 1 p.m. CT.
