Meagan Sallee, a power-hitting first baseman for the Muhlenberg County High School softball team, has signed with Kentucky Wesleyan College.

"I've always wanted to play ball at the next level, and it's a good feeling to know I'm going to be able to do that," said Sallee, also a starter for the Lady Mustangs' basketball team.

"I wanted to stay close to home and go to a small school, and KWC is going to give me the opportunity to do that. I'm really looking forward to the experience of attending Wesleyan and being a part of its softball program."

Sallee, who is hitting .392 for Muhlenberg County this spring, hopes to play early and often for the Panthers.

"Their coach (Miles Malette) indicated that I would have the opportunity to earn a starting position at first base," Sallee said. "I'm looking forward to the challenge."
