2010 Football schedule announced

The 2010 Kentucky Wesleyan football schedule features three of the first four games at home plus a road contest at Football Bowl Subdivision member and first-year program South Alabama, as announced by Panther head coach Brent Holsclaw.
   
The Panthers open their 10-game schedule, five at home and five on the road, against Indianapolis on Thursday, Sept. 2 at 6 p.m. CT.
   
"This is a very strong and competitive schedule and we are ready for the challenges it presents," said Holsclaw. "With the outstanding recruits coming in and our many talented returning players plus this dynamic schedule, we are very anxious and wish the season started now."    
   
Following Indianapolis, the Panthers step out of Div. II competition to host NAIA Pikeville (Sept. 11) for their second straight home night game at 6 p.m.  KWC will then travel to Central State (Sept. 18) before closing the month at home with new foe and Division III member Alma (Sept. 25) from Alma, Michigan.
   
 The Panthers begin October with three straight road games with South Alabama (Oct. 2), Urbana (Oct. 9) and Missouri S&T (Oct. 16).KWC will then return to Owensboro to play Saint Joseph's (Oct. 23) and newcomer Notre Dame College (Nov. 13) from Cleveland, Ohio, in their home season finales.
   
Coach Holsclaw concludes the slate by traveling to Selma, Ala., to play Concordia. KWC finished the 2009 season with a 2-9 record.
