Tennis signs Tatum McMahon

Tatum McMahon from Walnut Creek, Calif. (Carondelet HS), signed a national letter-of-intent to continue her education and tennis career at Kentucky Wesleyan College, according to Panther head coach Eric Larue.

She ranks 18th in the Grand Prix for the United State Tennis Association North California Division, 71st in the state of California and has an Ratings Percentage Index of 137 in the United States Tennis Association Southwest Region for 18-year olds.

"Tatum has a very athletic background," said Larue. "Her experience against national ranked players have prepared her to come in as a freshman and make a huge impact from the get-go. Tatum success in doubles will make her one of the top doubles players on the team immediately."

Her senior season, McMahon was named team captain, won the prestigious Carondelet Coaches Award and participated in the state championship tournament for the fourth consecutive year.

McMahon earned All-Blossom Valley Athletic League recognition twice. She won the league doubles title and was ranked in the top 10 USTA sectional doubles in 2007. The four-year tennis and lacrosse letterwinner is the daughter of Darres and Bob McMahon. She plans to become an art major.
