KWC sweeps Hillsdale

Kentucky Wesleyan College's baseball team took advantage of the big inning Saturday afternoon in a doubleheader sweep of Hillsdale (Mich.) at Panther Park.

The Panthers (4-6) won the opener 7-6 and the nightcap 11-7.

Mike Whitten and Timmy Wimsatt had three hits each for KWC in the first game. Whitten connected for a solo homer and scored two runs. Wimsatt also scored two times and drove in one.

Chris Burton got the win for KWC.

In the second game, KWC's Jordan White went 2-for-4 and drove in four runs. Luke Garmon and Mike Finigan also had two hits each and both scored twice. Garmon drove in two runs for the Panthers, which erupted for eight-runs in the bottom of the sixth to take control.

The Panthers had 19 hits on the day.

The teams meet again at noon today at Panther Park for a doubleheader.
