Chad Smith, Ben Wilson and Amore' Winter's selected to Football All-Star game

Kentucky Wesleyan's Chad Smith, Ben Wilson and Amore' Winters have been selected to play in the 14th annual All-American Bowl College All-Star game for Division II and III seniors on Saturday, March 27 at the University of Charleston Laidley Field in Charleston, WVa. at 1 p.m. ET.

Smith, a 5-foot-8, 192-pound, linebacker from Louisville, Ky. (Southern HS), produced 22 tackles including 15 solos and two tackles-for-loss in 10 games played and six starts.
   
Wilson, a 6-foot-1, 228-pound, defensive end from Columbus, Ind. (East HS), collected a second best 54 total tackles including 31 solos. He also had nine tackles for a loss of 33 yards, two sacks, two passes defended, two quarterback hurries and two fumble recoveries in starting all 11 games. Wilson has been accepted into medical school next fall at Indiana University.

Winters, a 6-foot-1, 187-pound, return specialist and defensive back from Kosciusko, Miss. (Kosciusko HS/Itawamba CC), led the Panthers in kick returns with 30 and 592 yards for an 19.7 average. He also had 14 total tackles including 10 solos plus three tackles-for-loss, one sack, one forced fumble and two pass breakups.

This marks the first time student-athletes from KWC has participated in this All-Star game.

Including the game there will be a scouting combine. Many participants have went on to the NFL, the NFL European League and the Canadian Football League.

The All American Bowl began in 1996. It is designed to bring together the country's top Division II and III college seniors and free agents to compete in an All-Star bowl setting.
